New start! One of many, I presume. Besides having been continuously pressured into doing this I also rather missed writing. In general, but more specifically about myself. Sort of helps aligning things properly, if you know what I'm getting at.
This won't be daily, hell no. My daily life is not all that interesting, but then again, if you're interested enough in keeping up with someone's personal happenings you're sure to be interested enough in whatever the hell this someone ate the night before. Still not happening.
As most of you know, giving things names is a rather important part of my life. I name pretty much everything, things without a name are truly unfortunate, in my belief. If something is important it is indeed deserving of a name properly suited to him/her/it. Though I do have the tendency to call all good things in life Jack. This goes from my bicycle to my purse to my man-of-the-moment's dick. I find Jack the best possible name ever invented, and whoever I marry or procreate with later in life WILL need to accept the fact that one of 'our' kids will be named Jack, be it a boy or a girl. I secretly wish for girl-twins so I can call them Jack and James, but they haven't gotten around to post-order babies yet so I'll have to freeze that idea for more developed times. For some reason yet unknown to me I have taken to calling all things tech Harry. My PC, camera, iPhone and NintendoDSlite are all Harry'd. All the other things get individual names. Such as friends and the like. I think a birthname is practically nonsense for friends to use, it's a name given by parents who have less than jack shit to do with your personal bond to said person. Besides, people are given names before any personality or character traits have shown themselves so the chance someone truly suits their name is minimal, unless they've adapted so it has grown on them. I have this friend Gwen, and even though I have really, really tried, there's just nothing that comes up. Seeing as I've practically nicknamed each and every one of my friends this is truly quaint. Gwen suits her, entirely. It pisses me off.
The moment I find a nickname, usually after a long while of careful pondering, I have an extremely hard time to think of that person any way other than as that name. Bubba, for instance. I started calling him Bub like Wolverine calls kids bub's. Because that's what he was, and maybe still is. A kid. Bubba's the type of person that will always be a kid, no matter how old. I think this might go for me as well. Bub eventually evolved into Bubba, his last name being Baauw helped. Bub Baauw, etc. The fact that pretty much every Bubba is huge, black and very bouncer'y just pleased the contrast all the more. Bubba's small, blonde and rather scrawny, you see. Even though he's been trying to escape his much-promoted nickname as of late, I still can not make the connection from Robbie to Bubba. It confuses me horribly, to hear people call him Robbie.
I myself have gone by way too many names, and that's exactly how I like it. This wouldn't have happened, I think, if my parents had had a better taste of friends. Ma & Da wanted to call me Layla. Yes, from the Troggs/Clapton song. They'd had this decided for years, and even told their friends. They took their time producing me though, nothing short of about 10 years. In the 8th year, a friend of my folks became pregnant, and when the baby was born they had decided they liked the name Layla as well, and named her thus.
So, Winnie. Winnie was a back up plan. Where the hell is the sense in that? Oh, let's go from something pretty and somewhat elegant to a name so positively retarded, associated with half naked yellow glutton bears and somewhat CUTE at it's best like Winnie? Funny thing, every time I hear Dearest Layla (the accoustic version, mind you) I calm down. The song's good for me somehow. I don't know who to not-forgive for this.
This is where y'all come in and go all 'WELL I THINK IT R CUTE, LOL.' Screw you. Just, screw you.
I've been called Pebbles, Ivy, Twin, Winnkid, Winner, Winstar, 8-ball, Capt'n, Ruby Woo, Riot, Ruby Tuesday, Lilith, Layla, Red and most known, Ace. Ace Dia, Ace Lux, Ace Ira, Space Ace, Ace blabla something yadda yadda. I've probably forgotten a few. And you honestly can't blame me preferring this over Winnie, however juvenile a thought it might be.
And I wrote all that to flow over in how hard it was to pick a new url for a blog, but I don't feel like writing anymore so that'll come later.
